Cognitive / Integrative Psychotherapy
“Interventions focus on stress management and growth in all four human quadrants: the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual quadrants (PIES system).”
Dr. Woodburn uses a “whole person” model for addressing issues such as job stress, anxiety, and depression. Individuals who experience such issues tend to develop more negative automatic thoughts and behavior patterns than are normal or healthy for them. Our therapists use the cognitive / integrative model to assist clients in the identification, challenging, and correction of these automatic and dysfunctional thoughts and behavior patterns.
Clinical Hypnosis
“The unconscious mind is the key to outside-the-box solutions.”
Clinical hypnosis is very effective in achieving rapid change because it gets “beneath” conscious, repetitive patterns of thought and behavior. Hypnosis is useful in habit control (enabling clients to control their weight or quit smoking, drinking or using drugs), stopping destructive relationship patterns, retrieving repressed memories, and maximizing performance in athletic or academic situations.

Family Systems Therapy
“True change requires shifting gears rather than just pressing on the accelerator to the point of burning out the engine.”
Dr. Woodburn uses a systems approach to changing dysfunctional patterns in couples and families. This approach emphasizes the need for all parties to make reciprocal changes in order for a more fulfilling relationship to develop and to not be offset by the underlying, unwritten “culture” of the system.

Psychological Evaluation
“Understanding the context of psychological symptoms is the key to forensic evaluations.”
Dr. Woodburn uses interviews and psychological testing to complete a full evaluation of specific client situations and behaviors as needed. Examples include workers’ compensation evaluations, personal injury consultation, competency evaluations, presurgery evaluations and probation evaluations. Dr. Woodburn is qualified and willing to serve as an expert witness as needed.
